Pre-race
It was a wet few days preceding the race, but Saturday has dawned fair and warm, with a high of 80 degrees expected. There remains a slight, 20% chance of afternoon thunderstorms for Saturday, but that chance increases to 50% for Saturday night and into Sunday. Perhaps wet and slick trail conditions will produce a challenging and interesting battle through the night.

Post-race
Heavy thunderstorms during the first 10 hours of racing cause the event to be shortened, with the end called at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night.
